Bowden attended college in St. Louis, MO to become a pharmacist before
spending five years as a computer engineer. While he made good money and
had a stable and comfortable job, he was unhappy with the direction his life was
going.
In January 2003 and as a 27 year old 14-handicapper, Bowden quit his job, left his family and friends, and moved to California to pursue a career as a professional golfer. Bowden has now hit a towering GPS measured 404-yard drive and has earned playing status on the 2005 Hooters Tour, but not without having his car broken into, spending his $40,000 in savings, incurring $40,000 in debt, living in his car, sleeping in a garage for a year, and facing a careerthreatening concussion. |
